Morfas Family Dentistry About 28 months ago I hired Jennifer Hines. Baum's Natural Foods I had been working with Jennifer Hines for a few months when she suggested we have a Product of the Month promotion. I was willing to try it but I didn’t really think it would have much of an impact. The purpose of the Product of the Month was to increase the average dollar amount spent per customer. We used it as an “add on sale” item at the register when the customer was checking out. The product we chose was a multiple vitamin (good mass appeal) sale-priced at $5 off, which made the price $23.99. On the third day of the promotion, I can’t tell you how surprised I was to find that one of my newest and least experienced employees sold four bottles in one day. That got my attention! Word of her success quickly spread throughout our three stores and the competitive spirit among the employees soon became apparent. It was easy to see that a belief in the product and a little success early on gave all the employees the confidence they needed to talk it up to all of the customers. The results were amazing. Between our three stores we sold 188 bottles for a total of $4510! The next month we chose a healing juice called Noni, which retails for $34.65 a bottle. We offered it at $5 off. We sold 365 bottles for a total of $10,822!The customer average increased from the same month during the previous year in all three of our stores.
